Simply put, Mike’s work is second to none. He took my heavily used 12 year old horn and somehow managed to make it play BETTER than new. Extremely pleased!!

Thanks for the Wagner Tuba in used horns. It sounds great and is in great shape. I found the ordering process to be easy and fair. Should you get another in your shop for sale I would be interested. Great service and thanks again.

Mike’s repair work on my instruments have been nothing short of spectacular. His attention to detail along with his honest assessment of issues always combine for impeccable repairs. This has led to better working instruments that have allowed me to have continued success as a performing musician. I cannot recommend his work enough. You will be thankful you had the opportunity to use his services.

I just wanted to say thanks again for doing such a nice job on my [Paxman] horn. Relacquering another guy's sloppy repair and fixing the two other dents near the screw rim was icing on the cake. Nice to know there is someone local who can do such quality repair work, it is reassuring to say the least!

Mike repaired several items on my son's 70-year-old cornet for a very reasonable price. Will definitely be back!
My son dropped his trumpet on the ground accidentally, the bell dented so bad. Mike did a fantastic job on his trumpet like magic, we are very happy and satisfied. His service is very fast/professional and the price is very reasonable too. I will highly recommend Mike here!
Friendly, down to earth and straightforward. Would reccomend for private/individual service needs. Please support your local instrument repair services rather than going to chain repair groups.
Best Brass Repair technician in the multiverse.
Mike was forthright with all of the information I needed to get my trumpet chemically cleaned, and finished the job in a timely manner. I recommend his services for brass players.
Mike did a great job on my Edwards B454 bass trombone, quieting the rotors and getting the slide in alignment. The horn plays better now than at any other time that I've owned it. Thanks, Mike!
I was selling an older horn of mine and needed it brought back to playing condition. This was my first time using Morse Instrument Repair and Mike's work is simply unparalleled. I'll be using his services exclusively from now on.
The epitome of professional service, craftsmanship, and care in instrument repair. Mike responds to communication virtually immediately, and takes great care to accommodate your needs. Mike is also careful to maintain social distancing protocols upon delivery and consultation. I am a doctoral student at Michigan State and I've been in NC visiting for a few months. I had been working on a video collaboration project when the hand-brace on my Willson 2900TA-1 euphonium broke free from the solder point on one side. As I had a dealine to meet, Mike gave me a FREE temporary fix so that I could fulfill those obligations; after which we scheduled a permanent repair appointment. I also scheduled a professional cleaning service and valve alignment since it had been a good while since the last servicing. In discussing the needs of my instrument, Mike asked the right questions and took care to be especially conscientious of my preferences. My instrument was returned to me looking stunning, and more importantly, in better playing condition than factory spec. I am ecstatic with this result! If you're in the Raleigh-Durham area in North Carolina, this is where you should bring your instrument for repair. If I ever live in North Carolina permanently, this is where I will be getting my instruments serviced and repaired.
Fantastic purchasing experience! I called with specific questions and Mike helped me out. The instrument arrived well-packed for protection. Definitely would recommend Morse Instrument Repair!
I have been taking my instruments to Mike regularly since moving to NC to play in the symphony in Raleigh. Mike is a remarkable craftsman and problem solver. His solder work is exceptionally clean and his fixes are always timely and well thought out. In addition to being a fine tech, Mike is easy to communicate with and a very considerate business person. His customer service and affordability are exceeded only by his ability in the repair shop.

Mike repaired a trumpet for me that had a dented and misaligned third valve slide. It plays fantastically now and he got it done really quickly.
I recently took my trumpet, which had been sitting in a closet for 20 years, in for a cleaning and check-up. Mike's work was second to none and very reasonably priced. I'm very happy to have such a good repairman so close to my home and workplace.
Did great job on sons trumpet!! Great price too!
I first brought my Bach 42 trombone to Mike a few months ago for a simple procedure (removing an unnecessary brace) and he was able to resolve the issue quickly for a very reasonable price. At that time, I discussed the possibility of some major valve work that I would later ask him to do. I was having issues with extreme back pressure in the trigger register, and after several discussions of possible solutions, I brought the trombone back to Mike, this time for the more major surgery. Mike reworked the F-attachment tubing, opening up the trigger register completely. It now plays like an entirely different horn: extremely responsive and open with a consistent sound and feel across all registers. He worked with me so that I could bring it to him at a time that fit around my playing schedule. I was only without my trombone from Thursday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, an extremely short time for the amount of work that was done. I know several other musicians who have sought his expertise and they all agree that he does very fine work. Additionally, the trombonists with whom I play regularly are all quite impressed with the work that was done to my trombone and the immediate difference this made. I would highly recommend Mike to any brass player seeking any repair or improvement to their instrument!
