Mike Morse earned his performance degree on horn in 1979. After completing the instrument repair course at Southeastern Technical College in Red Wing, MN in 1981, he has been specializing in brass instrument repair in Durham, NC.
Since moving to Durham, he has worked for Pearson Music, first as a brass technician then as repair department manager, run his own business and worked at the Tuba Exchange where he performed all repairs and quality control. During the time Mike has been in the business, he has established a reputation for thoroughness and high quality craftsmanship, regularly getting work from professional brass players around the southeastern U.S.
For many years, Mike also worked as a freelance horn player and still plays in chamber groups for enjoyment.

Jason Bohde, assistant technician, has been involved in the musical instrument business since 1998. A native of Michigan, Jason has over 20 years in the band instrument industry. While living in Michigan, Jason managed Eastside Music, a school music service specializing in band and orchestral instrument sales and repairs. He also worked as a freelance trumpet player in the Detroit Metro area and as a private brass teacher.
In 2009, Jason moved to the Triangle Area to finish a degree at NC State. After teaching private brass lessons at Music & Arts in Durham for 10 years, Jason opened his own teaching studio (www.bohdebrassstudio.com) and continues to freelance as a performer. He has worked with Mike as an assistant at the Tuba Exchange.
Jason’s retail experience, combined with his years as a player and educator, have given him a thorough understanding of brass instruments and customers’ needs.
